I got my Sleepless in Seattle moment and I flew to met my Tom Hanks. He was wonderful and everything I thought but nothing was felt between us. We both are in different places and maybe over time our friendship will grow but as for now that is all we have, friendship.
Surprisingly the shy sweetheart has been coming around. At first I only heard from him if I called him and he seemed to not be interested when I had surgery. However, this last week has changed (I think). We went out and he bought my mother flowers for her birthday and was so cute all night. Who knows...I think I should not think and just see where things take us.
I wish there was a frequent fliers card for blind dating! I'm pretty sure I'd have a trip to Hawaii paid for by now.

You've got mail
YEP, my life gets more like the movies everyday! However, I unlike Meg Ryan do know the person on the other end side of that email...sort of. Lined up again but this time with my email. I didn't know how fun getting an email could be until now. We have talked, well written back and forth and it it really nice to hear from him. I have talked to him on the phone and I have told him things that I normally don't tell guys. Its really good!

Slow and steady
A long time ago someone wanted to set me up with a certain gentleman but they never gave either of us the others phone number just hoped that someday we would meet and all the choirs would sing. Well that never happened so I finally just asked for this fellow's number...and I called him. We enjoyed conversation after conversation however all the dates we would set up fell through. I had to work, he got sick, we live a far distance from one another and so that doesn't help either. Finally we met!! I had tickets to see a show that was half way for both of us. The show was great and the date went well (he's shy but oh so sweet). I left the date wanting to give it another chance. Which I did! Yep I asked him out to a sporting event this time. He got more talkative this time and it went well I thought; even though my family was ALL there...got to love them. I have to admit that this guy is kind of awkwardly shy...as in I don't really get him he talks and seems interested one minute and completely uncomfortable a minute later. No worries though I'm up for another meeting.
He did ask me out this time and it was a blast. He thought he would get me in a haunted house FOILED!!! There was no way I was going in there, but it was cute that he tried. However, he didn't try to hold my hand...there it was dangling and he kept awkwardly bumping it. I guess he is just taking his time which is fine, I am okay with that; but you have to remember that I'm still a girl and will over analyze the crap out of this and I have but I have to stop myself and breath (things will happen how they need to "have some faith" RIGHT?!). Hahaha but I have never got the patience thing down so I asked him out again for dinner at my place. He agreed and came! He still was super shy around everyone there and I am sure he said a total of 15 words the whole night to anyone besides me (to me he spoke the equivalent of a two page paper). The real treat of the night was the awkward couch moment.
There we were on the couch side by side; I not wanting to push him or make him move faster than he wanted sat in a position as to not discourage conversation but comfortable/content with just watching the movie. Half way through the movie I can feel the mood change and the wheels in his head going ninety miles per hour. Then came the quick arm around me (I could almost hear/see the sigh of relief from his mouth and a smile of victory). I fought back laughter as I felt his whole body getting nervous, heart racing, palms sweating, deep breathing. Poor kid it's just me I hope you make it to the end of the movie alive. You'll be glad to know he did and I walked him to his car and saw him off. It went well I think...but I think I should back off a bit and let it simmer, maybe let him plan something for us. Yep I think that's the plan.

Riddle Me This..
How come I can't seem to form words to speak to the guy I like but I can talk with guys I don't care to ever date? Also why do I always get stuck in the FRIEND ZONE? I am messed up...So I'm going to take matters into my own hands. I am looking for a teacher who can help me get past a second and third date; able to teach flirting to someone who just doesn't get it and has had success in the love department. If you have those qualifications and are up for a challenge please leave me a post. If not just wish me luck and give me some sound advice on how I may improve.
This is what comes from telling the truth
I went with option number one and just told him that I don't see it going anywhere. I know you're all thinking that maybe I'm picky and mean. You know I would say the same thing except for the fact that I just don't like him like that (friend zone all the way)and doesn't he deserve someone who is excited to see him? Anyways I told him...tears were present and I honestly felt bad. However, days later he had come back as if nothing happened. Calling, texting, visiting and floral arrangments (which he delivered to my bedroom door while I was sleeping; how did he get in you may ask...good question)! Not bad if there was anything there, which there's not. I finally thought I would just not talk to him...he wasn't getting the idea, so I made it a point to talk with him once more. I asked what he was doing and he informed me that I have been through a lot this year and I really need a man in my life :) and he knows that he is the man for me. Yad yad yad...He said that I am in love with him and I just don't know it; he'll wait until I realize it.
First off I honored that a great guy like him wants me, however I do not want him. I wish he would stop trying and this one guy would get off the bench and join the game. I guess love is like the Adam Sandler song "He loves her, but she loves this guy, and he loves some other girl...and it goes round and round."

Suckered
Once there was a girl, who had some weird dates. So she hoped and she prayed for a man who was normal and the perfect mate. Then appeared three suitors that all seemed to be great. Tonight I shall only tell you of one of them that happened as of late.
So when I was looking for a date for the last post I called the following gentleman and weeks later he returned the favor by taking me out. We had a good time. And he asked me out again (not bad). The second date was as good as the first and I began to think he was kind of cute. At the end of our date though he hugged me and SNIFFED me...followed by the sign of satisfaction. Unsure how to react to that expression I pulled back and he came pushing forward to my face. He came 70 and paused then shifted to the left and kissed me on the cheek.
The next day there was a few texts and a call. We interacted a bit and he came over to my house and awkwardly walked out to our garage. I follow him out and tried to follow his reasoning for going out there. After a while I walked back inside with him a step behind. I turned around to turned the light out and he full on suckered kissed me (yes his mouth completely engulfted mine, with slight suction). After pulling away I was unsure what to do I walked into the kitchen. Puzzled he walked in and asked what I was looking for, turning around he sucker kissed me again. And then again five minutes later. I was so blown away but not in a good way...there was nothing for me. It was just akward and honestly I was waiting for it to end. I feel bad but really that is the first time I've not felt lost in the moment. So do I tell him or let it slowly fade? THAT IS THE QUESTION!

Burning ring of fire
I was told that the only way I could go to statium of fire was to get a date. I didn't think this would be too bad since I had one in mind...but when that fell through I still kept my cool. I moved on to another guy that I have been interested in...that was a flop. So I moved to another who I found to be handsome and fun to be around...nothing. I continued on this path for hours and nothing came from it. Bummed I told a fellow Co worker my troubles...her solution was to go with her brother in law. She gave me his number and told me to call him. However at this point I was ready to put in the towel so I didn't call.
I felt bad later when I was asked why I didn't call so I did and now we are going out! Wish me luck!!

Reason?
I know that all things happen for a reason. So what is the meaning behind me running into a man who I haven't seen in 4 years. Not only that, but I see him everywhere! But before you all get excited he is always on a date or with some girl?
Mixed signals
I know that guys always say that girls send mixed signals...there is some truth to that; but guys need to see that the door swings both ways. The other day a guy who I think is cute, showed up to a party with his beard shaved. Note that I am not a fan of facial hair (scruff that's another thing) but on him I liked it. His shaved face was much better though!!! I told him this and he smiled and said "I'm glad you like it because I heard you only dated guys who are clean-shaven." Wanting to make sure if what I was hearing was right I ask "so you shaved for me?" Smiling again he says "yes." Excited I begin to ask him more about his week. He tells me that he went to a blow out sale at a local store and that I need to go. I tell him I would love to go and to have him give me a call when he goes again. We continue our conversation and then 5 minutes later he grabs my arm and says " you know what (male name) is going tomorrow you should call him and go with him." Figuring that he is just trying to be helpful I aim for another chance at spending time with him; but every idea I come up with he either says no or passes me to another person.
Was the shaving a joke? Maybe but the next day he came and sat next to me in class and told me how nice I looked and talked to me the whole time. At the end of class with me standing next to him he asked another girl out..

He has to have a sense of humor...
So I have a little crush and have been amazed how much I like this guy...but the thing that stopped me in my tracks was the fact that his first name is my dad's and his last matches a past love...two names are ones I don't care to hear and he has them both.

Sleep?
So the other night I had gotten home from a long trip and my friends had invited some people over to watch a movie. We were all stuffed on the couch when my eyes began to get heavy. My head began to fall to one side and it kept going until it found something to rest on. It wasn't until minutes later when I realized that I was resting on my neighbor, a good looking man. It was pleasant but once the movie ended he jumped up and left...meaning anyone?

The Hand Off
Okay so many of you are wondering what ever happened to the "3 Dates Man" or the Waterboy! Well he is still pretty wonderful but the other day I realized I hadn't seen or heard from him in well, a long time. I was lucky enough to come in contact with some great tickets to a sporting event...front row baby. Taking matters into my own hands I called him up and asked if he wanted to go. His reply "Oh that would be great but I have a study group tonight. You should call and ask this other guy." Yes he handed me off to another guy, I may not be super smart but doesn't that point to the fact he isn't interested? It's an idea though, if I don't want to go out with someone I'm going to recommend another date for him. See I learn something from everyone!

All I want...
Okay so after years of dating I think I can finally say just what we as women want: Someone who thinks we are worth their time. I think I'm pretty cool so why do guys make me feel as though it isn't that cool to go out on a date with me. I know many of my dates are set ups but is it too much to ask for him to let me know when and where our date will be?
I finally got asked out...no blind date! We talked about going out Friday, but because of some scheduling I needed to change it to another day and he agreed that Thursday would be better. He told me he would call me later with the details but to save Thursday night. Thursday came and I realized that I had no idea what was going on, so I called and he told me that we were still going out but he would call me later. The day turned into night and I still had not received any information about the night. Hours later he called and invited me to a wedding and asked that I met him there. After fighting myself, I agreed and went to met him. Arriving I discovered that I was over dressed and that he purposely set me up. Yes, he really did treat me like nothing because he wanted to see if I would come. GAMES! I hate games. Life is too short to play relationship games, if I wasn't interested I wouldn't have gone; all I got out of this was that he didn't take our date seriously. He had asked me out remember, so if he liked me why did he feel the need to make me feel like something in the far corners of his mind?
I'm not saying I wanted him to love me from first sight but at least see me as a person who deserved to be respected. I mean it when I say I want someone to be honest with me...if he didn't have time or didn't want to go out just tell me! Don't string me on and make me feel like I'm not worth your time.

HELP..
Okay so maybe I'm not use to "normal" dating but how does one do this? I went out on a date with a guy who is nice, has plans in life, has all his teeth, no weird body odors and is smart. I left the date hope he would ask me out again, and he did...DATE NUMBER TWO!!! Yes we didn't stop there...we have even gone on a third! I have broken my record. (Did anyone here the angels sing?) My question: why is dating so awkward? And can this be over come?
